Tacky thrift scores

Hello!

As today was overcast, I had to take more photos in front of the beauty pageant backdrop.

I've been thinking since I'm such a thrift whore, that I should make it more prominent on my blog. Seriously, like 75 percent of my stuff is from thrift/consignment shops! I don't know if I should make outfits of mostly (if not all) used pieces, or maybe just highlight recent finds that I got for a good deal, including things I've found on clearance. Not sure.

In any event, I would like to mention the hilariously weird item I found recently at Savers.
It is a hot pink PVC smiley face purse! I saw it while I was waiting for my sister in the dressing rooms, and it was so odd that, obviously, I had to buy it. Not sure when it's from, but it was only $1.50! I seriously don't get how you could not like thrift stores, like how?!

Anyway, here are the pictures

Shirt - consignment shop Sunglasses - ASOS Bandana - farm supply store Necklace - antique store (I feel like it was three dollars)

Isn't it amazing?! It's actually cross-body, but for the purpose of fitting it all in one picture, I bunched up the strap.

I hope you all have a nice day/night!

Lilac Fumes

Hello!

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

I'm quite happy with the way these pictures turned out. I wasn't sure as I was taking them, with my vaguely ratchet photo set-up, but I don't think they are too horrible. I'm not sure if it's obvious, but I'm obsessed with anything retro, and I like the 60s beauty pageant vibes that the fringe gives me. I would definitely like to get more backdrop pieces, but first I think I need to invest in a slightly better lamp, as I don't think the shade-less table lamp balanced on a plastic tote is cutting it.
I really can't explain how much I love taking pictures like these though! I sort of live in my own world mentally, and taking photos is kinda like bringing that imaginary world into being so other people can see it too. I really would adore it if I could do this for a living! I just get so many ideas and inspirations from things like music and movies, and I would always get so excited, but had no idea how to channel that energy. I think mayhaps I've found it.

Anyway, I've rambled on long enough (I've also been getting really into blogging, but I'm pretty sure that is evident).

I hope you all have very aesthetic dreams!

Alamo Prairie Witch

Hello!

I just had a mini heart attack when I tried to sign in this morning. I typed in the URL, and it informed me that my blog had been removed! I then quickly went to sign into my Gmail, and it said that my account had been closed due to suspicious activity. No idea what the "suspicious activity" was, but I was able to get a verification code that thankfully let me in. I was afraid that I had accidently committed copyright infringement or something!

Anyway, here are the photos that I was happily going to post before I was slightly detoured. It wasn't quite as warm yesterday, and I thought it was perfect weather for this maxi dress. I got it last year on clearance at Target, and I totally love it! I had to hem it, as it was ridiculously long on me, and I looked like I was wearing a tent! I love the feel of it though, as it gives me very 19th century western/Stevie Nicks vibes, which I'm always cool with. The shoes are also from Target, but were purchased many moons ago (I'm talking years). As I had mentioned in my previous post, I tried on some sunglasses to see if I could make it flow, but I don't think 60s cat-eyes really work with "Alamo Prairie Witch".

Maybe I just need a new pair. XD

Cowgirl Maiden

Hello!

I attempted to take pictures of "The Majestic Thinking Cap" yesterday, but I ran into a couple a problems.
First, I thought that I had taken some photos of the crown up close, but after going through all the pictures, I realized that I hadn't.
Second, as it was pushing 90 degrees yesterday, I was kinda hot, and the crown kept slipping off my head and into my eyes. (also my hair deflated.)
And third, as I'm sure is evident in some of the pictures, it was super sunny. Like, no clouds at all. Also, it was lunch time, so the sun was just chilling up in the middle of the sky, and it sorta gave everything a bleached out look. I'm going to have to try to find a way around that, but I'm not really sure what angle is best. It seems to be that the best lighting is when the sun is directly behind the camera, but then I literally can't see anything, and end up just squinting. Maybe I'll just have to wear sunglasses in all my photos. XD

Also, thank you to whoever is reading this! I know that it's not a lot, but I literally can't explain how excited I was when I saw views and shares!
I hope you all have a lovely day!

In Bloom

Hello!

Once again, I'm wearing the majestic thinking cap. It's like Jo in Little Women, where she always has to wear that weird night cap looking hat. It probably has a name, but it currently escapes me.

Anyway, I meant to post this last night, but I had a headache, and was literally just laying on my bed listening to Nirvana and not moving. Such a grand thespian, I know. I was going to take more pictures, but my camera died, as per usual. I'm currently in the process of getting a new camera, but I'm ridiculously indecisive, and keep going back and forth on which one I want.

What can I say, I have too much Libra in my chart!

Tacky metallic cowgirl

Hello!

I'm currently wearing a crystal tiara made for me by my sister. Not sure why, but I feel like it helps with this whole writing thing. It's like a majestic thinking cap! I'll have to take a picture so all its amazingness can be seen.

Anyway, todays theme is basically tacky metallic cowgirl (as is many days). Having no real training as an actual cowgirl, I was vaguely amused by myself when one night (like 2 am) I became OBSESSED with white cowgirl boots (also fake fingernails. I kept those on for a grand total of one night, after which I aggressively filled up a bowl of hot water, stuck my hands in for a few minutes, and proceeded to pry them all off. At 8 in the morning, mind you). Point being, upon waking up the next morning, I decided that I needed new shoes. I settled on a pair of vintages ones, which gave me very 40s rodeo vibes. And, they have fringe, which is so hideously tacky that I couldn't possibly pass them up!

I kind of feel like saying "TTFN", but that also seems incredibly kitschy. I am wearing a gold lame dress to be fair.
