Rainbow Dash

Hi!
Sorry for my lack of posting. The weather has been suspicious the past couple of days, and it's either raining, or looks like it's going to rain. I personally don't really feel like getting struck by lightning, but maybe that's just me.

Art Deco

Hi!
I know I've said this before, but my favorite color combination by far is red, black and white. It just draws your eye in such a strong way. It's very stark and straightforward, but still has a pulse, an edge if you will. It's very assertive, I think. It's crazy, while I love the whole princess/mermaid/unicorn pastel vibe that is very trendy at the moment, I feel most like me in bold color combos. Like red, yellow and purple, or black, white and red. I feel it most accurately represents me as a person, as a soul. That's why I honestly can't stress enough to wear what feels most like you. The difference it makes in your confidence is huge! I know it sounds incredibly vapid, and maybe it is, but I literally can't imagine dressing in a way, as cheesy as it sounds, that isn't authentic. It feels like you're wearing a disguise. A disguise, that no matter how nice it is, you can tell just isn't real. While there is nothing wrong per se, the shirt matches the pants, the colors go, something just isn't right.

Whatever, I'll stop now, as I probably just sound like a raving lunatic (which I am, but that's beside the point).

It's kinda crazy, I remember buying this dress years ago, and there was a lady standing behind me in line. She started talking to me about how she liked the dress I was buying, and how cute it would look with a pair of red boots. I agreed with her, but as I had no red boots to speak of at the time, I never was able to create the outfit. I was literally like 11 or 12 at the time, and now, years later, I've finally worn that outfit. It's just weird.

The Little Mermaid

Hi!
I actually meant to put this up last night, but I ended up filling up/getting soaked by water guns for my younger siblings/neighbors for a good few hours. By the time I got in, it was too late. So here are some pictures, a day late.

My sister actually found this dress. It's funny, usually whatever I end up buying from thrift stores is stuff my sister finds. Like the turtle neck I wore in the last post. Or, it might technically be a mock-turtle neck. Whatever. Back to the dress. Obviously, when she showed it to me, I had to try it on. It was my favorite color, and it was a shift dress, which I love. And most importantly, it looked like a majestic mermaid tail! I actually bought a dress a little while back that was a lighter/ slightly more greenish teal color, and was covered in sequins. It gave me similar mermaid-y vibes, but it was a body-con fit. It looked really nice, and I thought maybe I could get myself to wear it, since it had such an Ariel aesthetic. But I'm not really used to wearing short, figure hugging dresses, and I felt kinda naked and uncomfortable. So I ended up returning it. This dress, however, is much more my speed.
Here is a photo of me, accidently taking a photo of myself.
Thank you so much for reading! Love you! XOXO

Seventies Suburbia

Hi!
Just a quick post, as it's kinda late. I wanted to share this outfit though, as I thought that my shirt looked very seventies, which I totally dig. It really makes no sense though, to make a sleeve-less shirt out of sweater material. It's not exactly the best shirt to wear when one is sitting in the sun. But it looks cute, so whatever.

Pressing Flowers

Hi!
I feel like this is a very 60s outfit. It wasn't intentional, but that's how it turned out. I've been wanting a pair of black knee socks for awhile, but of course anytime I'd go somewhere where they would have them, I would forget. It's funny, I used to have a huge collection of knee socks when I was younger, though they were all patterned. I would wear them all the time! I had striped ones, ones with polka dots, flowers, whales, you name it. I usually would pair them with Converse sneakers, a tutu skirt (or two, for added fluff), a brightly colored cardigan, and a big hair bow. I probably looked like an anime character mixed with a clown! But I thought I looked nice, so that's all that really matters. I'm not quite as gaudy as I used to be, though I do own sequin pants now. In any event, I finally remembered to pick up said knee socks when I was at Target. I actually got them from the kids section. They're cheaper, and since I have small feet, they fit better anyway. I particularly like them with my jellies, as I think it looks like I have cartoon character legs, which is a plus, in my opinion.
Dress - Savers  Socks - Target  Shoes - Amazon  Headband - Dollar General
This dress is actually originally from American Apparel, but I got it used (of course). I love swing dresses, and I thought it looked very vintage.
I got the headband at Dollar General (very classy, I know). I think it looks like something a mermaid would wear.
Xoxo
